Politics can bring the best out of a blogger. And being a Constitutionalist can be especially frustrating in today's political environment. What's a Constitutionalist, you ask? Simple. Someone who believes in the Constitution of the United States in the words and spirit for which it was written. Not the reinterpretation that has taken place over these many years where liberal judges "write" law by interpreting what was never put into the document in the first place. I can guarantee that we have several generations of Americans who believe that the word "abortion" must appear at least two or three times in the Constitution. Yet the reality couldn't be further from the truth. The only place the word "abortion" fits into the Constitution in the reality of a Constitutionalist is in the Tenth Amendment, which gives states their rights, and rights to the people. This obviously gives the blogger many issues and many directions in which to go. Cyberspace, here I come!

Tenth Amendment

To better understand what a Constitutionalist is, we must first be familiar with the Tenth Amendment. Since this blog is currently being developed, the Tenth Amendment will simply be stated here with no further comment at this time. Tenth Amendment to The Constitution of the United States of America: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people".

Martin Decision A Detriment To Golf, from "LETTERS TO THE EDITOR" in the Hartford Courant, June 5, 2001. This was a letter in response to the Supreme Court weighing in on the links.

Drop the R&D Tax Burden. The Founding Fathers knew that innovation and new ideas were part of personal property, and that personal wealth would help a nation grow. And once upon a time, the US tax code favored Research and Development in Corporate America. But how things change! With a portion of R&D no longer tax deductible (as it once was), corporations now skimp (unwisely) in their research efforts. The bottom line looks good for investors, but future innovations are many times lost forever, or developed overseas, with US companies having to play catch-up. This is a clarion call for our legislators to take heed and make innovation favorable once again.
